Custom projects and products
We often get asked for custom products or changes to existing ones, and when time permits we're happy to help. Changes range from simple firmware tweaks to complete hardware redesigns, and we also design complete products to your specifications. Some custom products are for sale, though usually not through our dealers.
Pricing depends on how complex the design is and how many units you need. Call our sales engineers at 352-335-6555 or e-mail sales@circuitwerkes.com for a quote.
Some of what we've built
- 2,000 beep-tone generators for a major TV network. Each breaks into the audio and beeps three times on a contact closure.
- 4,000 PC interface units for a TV network, including the RF shielding and FCC Part 15 certification.
- A serial-to-relay converter that turns StarGuide II receiver data into 16 contact closures, for a large radio network.
- A touch-tone to serial converter for a TV network. It became our DT-232.
- Several hundred ringing-phone strobes for a buying co-op.
- A serial data delay for a radio network, to keep serial data in sync with a profanity delay; it can also keep RDS data in step for stations broadcasting in HD.
- A touch-tone decoder with a large LED readout and serial output, for a radio network that switches in-house with touch-tones.
- A touch-tone decoder that latches a relay on one programmable tone, releases it on another, and pulses other relays on the rest. One use was teleconferencing.
Quantities
Full production of a custom hardware design usually takes a minimum of 50 to 100 pieces, but sometimes orders as small as 5 or 10 can be done. Some custom products, like the MPC-2 telephone interface, are kept in stock and sold in single pieces.
