How it works
Seize the line as a manual coupler, or just tap it and listen. Either way the audio rides a transformer-coupled 1/4-inch jack.
Inputs: Phone line (Any analog line), Your audio (Through the 1/4-inch jack). The TelTap: Seize the line or just tap it; Mute switch; Optional auto-disconnect of the second jack. Outputs: Line audio (Send or receive, half duplex), Ring light (Incoming calls).

- Manual coupler or passive tap, set by internal jumpers
- Send or receive half-duplex audio on any analog phone line or analog port
- Transformer-coupled 1/4-inch TRS audio jack
- Ring LED shows incoming calls when there's no ringer to hear
- Two RJ-11 jacks, normally in parallel so a phone can share the line
- The second jack can disconnect automatically when the line is seized, cutting background noise
- No-tap mode for use only as a manual coupler
- Mute switch
- Recessed switches for field use; no power needed

TelTaps bought before mid-2005 are version 1.0: they have J1 and J2 but not J4, J5 or J6, and use the version 1.0 manual.
