More about the MicTel
It replaces the handset of a telephone for high-quality feeds, and its balanced, studio-quality inputs and outputs make it just as useful in the studio. Think locker-room reports, news and sports actualities, and long remotes.
Compared with the Gentner MicroTel it updates: balanced inputs and outputs instead of unbalanced, about 20 to 30-plus hours of battery life instead of about 12, a maximum output near +10 dBm instead of about −1 dBm, safety limiters, and a headphone level control of its own.
MicTels built before April 2006 are version 4.0, with 7 jumpers. April 2006 and later are version 5.0, with 13 jumpers. The jumper locator page in the manual tells you which you have.
