Pick the problem. We'll show you the box that handles it, how it does it, and what it costs. Every one is made in the U.S.A. and carries a two-year warranty.
I find out about dead air from listeners.WAM-2
WAM-2
Two-channel web audio monitor
The WAM-2 listens to two channels of program audio. When it hears silence or overload, it runs the relay actions you set, such as switching in a backup source, and e-mails or texts you. Its meters are on a web page you can open from anywhere.
2 audio channels 12 alarms, 3 actions each 6 relays
$439 list price
Watching six channels? The WAM-6 does, for $535 list.
I drive to the transmitter site to read meters.SiteSentry4
SiteSentry4
Four-channel web remote control
Four DC meter inputs, two status inputs, two channels of audio and its own temperature sensor, all on a web page in any browser. Set low and high limits on every channel and it alarms by e-mail and text, and runs the relay actions you choose.
4 meters 6 relays 16 alarms
$545 list price
Two channels are enough? The SiteSentry2 is $475 list.
My old dial-up remote can't text me.SiteSentry4
SiteSentry4
Web remote control, wired in parallel
Wire a SiteSentry's meter inputs across the channels your remote already reads, and its relays in parallel with yours. The old remote keeps working, and you gain web control, e-mail and text alarms, logging and a scheduler, for a fraction of the cost of replacing it.
Works beside most older remotes Nothing to install Free firmware updates
$545 list price
The two-channel SiteSentry2 works the same way, for $475 list.
AM pattern changes need someone there.SiteSentry4
SiteSentry4
Web remote control with a 50-event scheduler
Its scheduler runs relay actions at the times you set, to the second, with the clock kept by NTP and daylight saving time handled for you. An event can repeat every day for a month, stop, and come back the next year.
50 events NTP clock Daylight saving aware
$545 list price
The scheduler is built in; there's nothing extra to buy.
My automation misses network cue tones.SUB-03
SUB-03
Subaudible tone decoder
Feed it the network audio and it gives your automation a dry relay closure for each 25 Hz, 35 Hz and combo cue, and passes the audio on with the tones filtered out. Combo tones don't trip the 25 or 35 outputs.
3 dry relays Filtered, balanced output 50 and 75 Hz on request
$559 list price
Network cues sent as touch-tones? The DTMF-16 decodes them, for $375 list.
Remotes need someone at the board.DR-10
DR-10
Dial-up remote control with audio pass-through
Your talent calls the DR-10, keys a password, and its relays put the remote on the air through your automation, with no one at the board. Its built-in hybrid passes the phone audio both ways.
8-digit password 10 relays 4 alarm inputs that dial out
$520 list price
Need less? The TAC-5 does the same job with five relays, for $433 list.
Nobody hears the studio lines ringing.Telco-6
Telco-6
Six-line telephone ring detector
It watches up to six phone lines and closes a relay for each line while it rings, so you can light a lamp the talent can't miss.
6 lines A DPDT relay per line Screw terminals
$405 list price
Contacts are rated 24 V DC at 1 A; use them below 30 V.
I need a reporter on the air from the field.MicTel
MicTel
Mic and line to telephone field amplifier
Mic and line in, telephone handset, cell phone or balanced line out, with built-in limiters and a headphone feed for the return audio. It runs on two 9 V batteries or the included adapter.
Up to +10 dBm out Send and receive limiters 20 to 30-plus hours on batteries
$395 list price
Taking the call at the studio? The HC-3 hybrid autocoupler is $385 list.
Touch-tones are getting on the air.Silencer-3
Silencer-3
Stereo digital touch-tone mute
Two touch-tone decoders and a 50 millisecond delay mute the tones before they reach your output, in stereo, with 20 kHz audio.
Stereo 20 kHz audio 80 dB signal-to-noise
$420 list price
Mono line? The Silencer II is $229 list.
I need to move contact closures between rooms.Transcon-16
Transcon-16
Bidirectional contact closure transporter
A pair carries 16 closures in both directions over any three-conductor cable. Ground an input at one end and its partner relay closes at the other.
16 each way 3 wires 9600 or 1200 baud
$385 list price
Transcon-16s are used in pairs.
My serial data runs ahead of the profanity delay.DC-232D
DC-232D
9600-baud serial data delay
It holds 9600-baud serial data back by the time you set, in 100 ms steps up to 108 seconds, and a remote dump input clears it when your audio delay dumps. It keeps RDS data in step with HD audio too.
Up to 108 seconds 100 ms steps Remote dump input
$495 list price
Set from the front panel, no software needed.
I need more relays than my remote has.REX
REX
Relay expander
Six optocoupled inputs drive 24 contact closures, wired out on a 50-pin telco connector for standard punch blocks. Each input works active high, active low or as direct drive.
6 inputs 24 closures 50-pin telco connector
$295 list price
Need logic and timing? The pREX is programmable over RS-232, for $399 list.
